Feeling blue this time of year?

Christmas is not always a "feel good" time of year for everyone. Some have had a difficult year this year, or a difficult few years. Some have lost. Some are alone. Some no longer have loved ones near. For some, it's truly a "Blue Christmas." Where can these folks find help? Pastor Marc gave us a few tips this past Sunday:

  1. If you're going to be alone for Christmas, call friends, family, others in church, or colleagues who are also alone for Christmas.
  2. Respect old rituals and traditions, but also create new ones, perhaps creating a new type of remembrance.
  3. In some situations you just need to do something different.
  4. Enjoy free, economical activities.
  5. Give yourself permission to do less.
  6. Do common sense things
  7. It's OK to cry

If you are looking for strength, check out these verses: Psalm 46:1-3; Psalm 22:24; Psalm 55:22; John 14:27; Matthew 11:28-30.
